The Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education has approved a non-resident student enrollment policy under Section 105 and 105C of the School Aid Act that allows for a limited number of seats in buildings for students not living within the Ann Arbor Public School District.

Schools of Choice is a program that allows students to attend schools outside their designated attendance boundaries. This program gives families the flexibility to choose a school based on various factors, such as academic programs, extracurricular activities, specialized instruction, or other considerations.

Eligible Districts

A limited number of non-resident students are eligible for a seat in the Ann Arbor Public School District. The following non-resident districted students can apply: Washtenaw, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Oakland & Wayne

Number of Transfers

The number of schools with space available are determined each year based on building capacity and projected enrollment. Applications are accepted annually in the spring application window.

Transportation

Transportation to and from school will not be provided by Ann Arbor Public Schools. Transportation will be the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian,

Applications

Applications will be accepted and reviewed anytime during the application window timeframe. Applications are not reviewed or processed on a first-come, first serve basis. Discipline records from current school will be reviewed during this process.
